Here is a 1960 Plymouth Fury Convertible, complete with the huge iconic tail fins and elevated golden exterior trim. The Fury was Plymouth's highest level offering in 1960 and the Convertible model was the most rare of all the body styles. 1960 was also Plymouth last year of the oversized tail fins, which had adorned Plymouth's vehicles since 1956. The 1960 Fury was a part of the Virgil Exner "Forward-Look" and this classic Mopar styling is evident throughout the design of the Fury. This particular Fury Convertible comes to us from a very large collection in Texas and it has been very well taken care of since it was restored. Under the hood in the very well-detailed engine compartment of this slick Fury is a 318 Cubic Inch V8 engine with a Single 2 Barrel Carburetor that pushed out 230 horsepower back in 1960. One of the coolest features on this '60 Fury Convertible is the Push-Button Shifter for the TorqueFlite Automatic Transmission, which was way ahead of its time back in the early 60s. This classic Mopar is equipped with power steering making this full-size Plymouth a much easier car to drive. The White Vinyl Power Convertible Top is in fantastic shape and goes up and down with the simple twist of a knob mounted on the dash. The exterior on this Plymouth Fury has been beautifully refinished in a two-tone paint scheme with Plum Red over Oyster White. The chrome and brightwork around the exterior of this classic Plymouth Fury is in stellar, show-worthy condition. Sitting on 4 Wide Whitewall Radial Tires with Kelsey-Hayes Wire Wheels, this Fury Convertible has a much better ride than what was available from the factory and while keeping a great exterior look. The color-matched interior has a superb look! The split-bench front seat and bench rear seat are covered in Plum Red vinyl with matching cloth inserts, and they are in fantastic shape. The door panels, dash, and steering wheel are all in spectacular condition as well. The horizontal speedometer pod has a great futuristic look, as do the gas gauge, temperature gauge, and clock. The push-button heater controls and AM radio controls match the ahead-of-its-time push-button shifter controls, giving this Fury a truly forward-looking appearance. Whether you're looking for your first collectable classic car or you're looking to add to your growing collection of rare automobiles, this 1960 Plymouth Fury Convertible is an excellent choice. Give us a call today!
