“The etheric body, ether-body, æther body, a name given by neo-Theosophy to a supposed vital body propounded in esoteric philosophies as the first or lowest layer in the "human energy field" or aura. It is said to be in immediate contact with the physical body, to sustain it and connect it with "higher" bodies.
The English term "etheric" in this context seems to derive from the Theosophical writings of Madame Blavatsky, but its use was formalised by C.W. Leadbeater, and Annie Besant due to the elimination of Hindu terminology from the system of seven planes and bodies.
The classical element Aether of Platonic and Aristotlean physics continued in Victorian scientific proposals of a Luminiferous ether as well as the cognate chemical substance ether. The intended reference is therefore to some extremely rarefied matter, analogous in usage to the word "spirit" (originally "breath"). In selecting it as the term for a clearly-defined concept in an Indian-derived metaphysical system, the Theosophists aligned it with ideas such as the prana-maya-kosha (sheath made of prana, subtle breath or life-force) of Vedantic thought.
Linga sarira is a Sanskrit term for the invisible double of the human body, the etheric body or etheric double (or astral body in some Theosophical concepts). It is one of the seven principles of the human being, according to Theosophical philosophy.
Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Anthroposophy, often referred to the etheric body (Ätherleib or "Life Body") in association with the etheric formative forces and the evolution of man and the cosmos. According to him, it can be perceived by a person gifted with clairvoyance as being of "peach-blossom color".
Steiner considered the etheric reality or life principle as quite distinct from the physical material reality, being intermediate between the physical world and the astral or soul world. The etheric body can be characterised as the life force also present in the plant kingdom. It maintains the physical body's form until death. At that time, it separates from the physical body and the physical reverts to natural disintegration.
Note: If, as Steiner notes here, our own etheric bodies are akin to plants, we know, from numerous studies, that in order to grow and prosper, we need positive influence. This has been displayed wonderfully by the author Emoto, in his book “The Life of Water
.”
According to Max Heindel's Rosicrucian writings,[6] the etheric body, composed of four ethers, is called the "Vital Body" since the ether is the way of ingress for vital force from the Sun and the field of agencies in nature which promote such vital activities as assimilation, growth, and propagation. It is an exact counterpart of our physical body, molecule for molecule, and organ for organ, but it is of the opposite polarity. It is slightly larger, extending about one and one-half inches beyond the periphery of the physical body.
The energy rising from the Earth is electrical in nature, and the energy from the cosmos is magnetic in nature. The interaction of the two creates an electromagnetic field which forms around the body as shown. Your body is electrical and magnetic. The magnetic energy of the grand female vortex fuels the magnetic aspect of your physical by flowing into the Ida channel. Flowing up from the Earth is the electrical energy which flows into your Pingala channel. However, electrical energy also enters the physical through the dark energy subtle system.
Within your pranic tube there are some specific energy channels that handle the energy coming up from the Earth and down from the universe. One of these channels is called the Ida. It is the channel into which the energy from the cosmos enters at the base of your medulla oblongata, the top of your spinal cord. This channel twists around your spine as it descends. It’s called the Ida, and is associated with the left side of your body and your left nostril. This channel is receiving the female energy of the cosmos, which has a negative charge, and is generally silver to white in colour. In ancient cultures it is associated with the moon archetype. It governs your parasympathetic nervous system.
The second channel is a channel into which the energy of the Earth enters at the base of your spine and it twists around it in an ascending manner. This channel is called the Pingala, and is associated with the right side of your body and your right nostril. This channel is receiving the male energy of the Earth, which has a positive charge, and is generally gold in colour. In ancient cultures, it's associated with the sun archetype. It governs your sympathetic nervous system.
It is these channels that are represented in the caduceus of western medicine. These two channels are twisting around your spine and around an energetic tube that runs its full length. This tube is called the
Sushumna
. Through this channel energy rises up your spine from your root chakra, which we’ll discuss in a moment. This specific energy is called the
Kundalini energy,
and is very powerful.

Your body is electrical and magnetic. I reviewed earlier how the magnetic energy of the grand female vortex fuels the magnetic aspect of your physical by flowing into the Ida channel. Flowing up from the Earth is the electrical energy which flows into your Pingala channel. However, electrical energy also enters the physical through the Chakra system. Your Acupuncture Meridian System is not an energy generation system but rather it’s an energy distribution system. Through this system electrical energy flows to every cell in your body. The Chinese understood that if the meridians carrying the energy to your cells or any group of cells were to become blocked, that portion of your body not receiving the energy flow would be compromised. Your body will heal itself by removing the block and enabling the natural electrical energy flow to that part of the body to allow it to re-establish itself. “
Note: Here Tesla refers to the electrical current in all of our humanly bodies, and how, like a proper functioning electrical device, if it were short circuited, would obviously not work, and “flow”
as
intended.
THE FUTURE OF LIFE ENERGY & “FLOW”
To read Tesla’s article, above, written more than a century ago, one might imagine that they were reading a modern wholistic and spiritually oriented magazine. I’ve often wondered why we, as school children, were taught bout Thomas Edison when we should’ve been learning about Tesla. Most of us know the inner wars of the two inventors, but unfortunately not to a great enough degree, as should be known. Edison tested his AC Current theory on unaware and living elephants to prove his ( eventual) failed point of AC Current, while Tesla, not an American, but rather suspiciously Serbian in descent, was conveniently ignored by the General American Public, and more aptly, by Edison himself. Once a great admirer of Edison, Tesla had come to America to work under the almighty Edison, and lived to regret it. After some months of working tirelessly for Edison, and with the spoken promise of getting paid by the arrogant inventor, the nearly destitute Tesla finally asked to be paid. Edison laughed, and told the Serbian that the promise was an “American Joke” “You don’t get it, do you?” Edison wailed.
Fortunately this didn’t sway Tesla from his passion, and maybe even fueled it.
It’s clear from Tesla’s rather dense article from 1898, that this exceptional man was privy to much esoteric knowledge. Nikola Tesla was a genius, this is indisputable for sure. Anything he bothered to write down, is ultra valuable to us as humans on earth.
One can only imagine if his inventions and thoughts were fully revealed and put into action, how much further along Earth would be as a planet. Perhaps in private, after confiscating Tesla’s papers and personal belongings, the
powers that be
clamped down on Tesla’s revelations, seeing them as less than profitable, and more in a vein of enlightenment to the masses, and would not serve the proper purposes. This seems to have been the case, and still is, to many pioneers who seek to heal the world rather than gain profit from it in times of need.
In 1976 the late Ralph Bergstresser introduced a decidedly unremarkable-looking piece of aluminum with rounded corners to the world - except for three striking characteristics: it had a purple matte finish, mysterious circular corona stamp seal in one corner with the letters 'EIP', and was a concept of Nikola Tesla, the visionary Serbian inventor who, among other truly pioneering achievements, made the commercial transmission of alternating current a reality.
Bergstresser, and inventor himself, by all accounts was quite a character, a very loving and peaceful one at that. Stories of his long life have surfaced over the years and include everything from possible “Men In Black” visiting him in the wee hours of the night, to hosting a series of mind expanding meetings at his house, then in the Hollywood Hills of California. Another friend, who considered Ralph to be akin to a brother, recounts how Ralph would travel with him by car across the country, smoke countless cigarettes and use in the car’s interior, his “Green Fish”- (now the Green Thumb Tube,) to purify the air completely. When asked by the same friend how the plates were made, Bergstresser offered one of his known brilliant smiles, and answered simply “Intention.” There were portraits of Saint Germain all over Ralph’s house in Arizona, and the friend thought that might be a clue. Ralph was a very spiritual man, and would often give the plates and other inventions away to people for free, saying that it was good to get the energy out there.

INTERVENTION
Visiting my wholistic Doctor one afternoon, I took a purple plate with me to have him “test” it.
I often brought products, such as toothpaste, herbal tinctures and make up to see if they were good for me to be using.
Gary, my doctor, picked up the purple plate and looked at it with a smile on his face. I felt silly for a moment. What would he think of me, believing in this strange looking purple square that was purported to spawn miracles. I told him nothing about it, and simply asked that he test it out himself and see if it had any properties worth talking about. Now, if you knew Gary, you would know, that as an NMT, chiropractic herbalist and kinesioligist for over 30 years, he was nonetheless a down to earth, practical and no nonsense kind of guy. This was irksome at times, as I tried to converse with him about certain things I was sure were helpful, and only got a shake of his head in response.
A month later I went back to see Gary, and the first thing he did was pull out the purple plate. He held it up. “What IS this?” Before I could even try to answer he told me that he tested it on 12 different clients and himself, and he was rather amazed. As he handed the plate back to me, he said, quite emphatically, “It worked to help all 12 people I tested it on, no matter what their ailments were- immune system, everything- If I could put this in my body it would cure me of every disease I could ever get.” I was stunned and amazed. He wanted to know what this piece of purple metal had in it that made it so powerful. I couldn’t tell him. I didn’t know. But it was a powerful meeting and gave credence to the fact that yes, the plate was helping me in many aspects, even if it was a mystery as to what exactly they were.
STRANGE GENIUS
Reader’s Digest, Issue , from July, 1947, featured an article titled “Strange Genius- Nikola Tesla” (originally from
The Baltimore Sunday Sun
) by Harland Manchester. Among the brief, condensed expose, Manchester made a point in his story to mention the following:
“
With the versatility of a da Vinci he pioneered in innumerable fields, dashing from one to another, too impatient to stick with one idea until its commercial possibilities were fully developed. He experimented with electrical illumination by means of gas-filled tubes- the precursors of neon and fluorescent lamps. He discovered the healing effect of short wave currents on the human body , and suggested their use in treating disease.”
This speaks to harmonics and vibration perhaps being necessary in the healing arts.
Currently there are many “Sound healers” surfacing, and purple energy plates resonate this idea.

SAINT GERMAIN AND LINDA GOODMAN
Eventually Ralph Bergstresser somehow met up with popular Astrologer Linda Goodman, author of
Star Signs, Love Signs
and many other bestselling books of the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. To her fans, Linda is a goddess in the astrology realm, and she embarked readily on discovering other earth, as well as heavenly,
influenced ways to optimize life. After meeting Ralph and trying the Purple Plates out for herself and her friends, she was convinced that there was a definite positive influence that was imparted by using them. She promised Ralph that in her next book (which would be the phenomenal “
Star Signs”
) that she would include a chapter on the Purple Energy Plates, and the lovely redhead did indeed keep her promise.
Ralph, always one to shy away from the limelight (there were many friends who told of Ralph warning them not to trust the authorities, a maybe not so odd
a concern in lieu of the fact that Ralph was once employed by the Former CIA, (called the OSS at the time.)
What is not known about Ralph Bergstresser is what his position and directives were in the OSS. He claimed to be heavily influenced by Tesla, (as many scientists & inventors would be...) but denied actually meeting the man in person. It was his lifelong study of the great scientist, he insisted, that gave the elderly inventor the idea for a specially treated object to use in daily living that would be beneficial to every living thing it came into contact with. The color Violet, he would add, was due to the vivid shade being the Healing Color in the light spectrum, and also the designated color of the great Master Alchemist Saint Germain.
Nikola Tesla, the conscientious son of a Serbia Orthodox Church priest, became determined to espouse that every object in the universe produces not just an electrical charge, but corresponding magnetic field which could be altered to similarly affect the object or source itself, he may have subsequently recognized a practical application for this most fundamental principle of physics.
There is little, if any, indication of what steps Tesla took after his epiphany; it can only be surmised that he likely never had a chance to create a resulting product or products from the realization but, somehow, by means not made clear, Ralph Bergstresser came into possession of Tesla's notes on the matter. It wouldn't be until sometime later that he, too, was inspired by a quietly powerful insight of his own.
Standing by the River Ganges' high-altitude headwaters, Bergstresser perceived a pattern in how the sun and placement of large rocks seemed to illuminate and structure its direction and speed of flow but, more significantly, he felt a very perceptible effect upon not just his mood, but body as well - and it is almost certain that the thorough inventor before him had called attention to its cause in his research: negative ions which were produced by any such fluid movement, but unlike large fountains, the
structuring
, Ralph further realized, might serve to exponentially increase them and maximize their benefit to all life.....
This realization and ultimate discovery was tantamount to Bergstresser’s life work.
In the nearly 40 years of use of the Purple Energy Plates, Ralph’s “intention” and dream, has come to fruition, in the ongoing and eternal production, by his original methods, of creating the Purple Energy Plates. The Energy Plates, as far as one can tell, cannot influence a lover to return unless it is in the lost lover’s best interest to do so. Even if one were to influence someone into being the best they could be, it might not entail returning to an old lover, naturally.
The question arises often about what sort of photo to place facedown on the plate, and the answer, by all accounts, is that it must be a photo with a positive and negative: ie: a real, genuine, old fashioned photo, not simply a photocopy.
