    Description

A beautiful collectible set of U.S. postage stamps issued in 1957 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis and the March of Dimes and to honor those who dedicated their lives to fighting polio and caring for it's victims.  Even though great advances have been made against this crippling disease, between 10-20 million people suffer from polio today.
Pictured on the stamps is a woman holding a medical emblem and two children, representing those who most benefitted from polio research and vaccines.
These stamps have never been used and are as fresh as the day they were sold at the Post Office over 60 years ago! Suitable for framing, they would make a great gift to anyone who works in the health research or vaccine industry or those who work with polio victims!
See my other auctions for blocks of historical significance including blocks dedicated to chemists and another block dedicated to health researchers and several honoring nurses and doctors!
All stamps are Mint Never Hinged.
