FINE Antique Heavy-Duty KNY-SCHEERER Germany Surgical/Autopsy/Amputation Knife

This beautiful antique surgical knife is in excellent condition though it is quite old, pre-dating WWII.  It's a larger and heftier piece than most, measuring 12" long with a 7.5" blade that's 1/4" thick, tapering from there with a deep, hollow-ground edge--a geometry that only a very highly skilled master grinder could execute.  Blade is high-quality German chromed carbon steel with a full tang, hafted with African ebony of the finest grade.  Despite its modest size it weigh in at an impressive 9 ounces. Maker is KNY-SCHEERER, who produced these in Solingen, Germany.  A GREAT find in GREAT condition!
