Professional Stradivari Model 4/4 Cello, Handmade in Romania
Made in Romania, in Reghin by
Luthier Dumitru Pop who owns a private family business in his hometown and has 30 years of experience in making violins, violas, cellos and double basses and is now followed by his daughters.
The cello is handmade from Romanian wood (maple and spruce), it is made to standards but any instrument we make can be made to measures and preferences.
The wood used for making this cellos is over 10 years old and it is a very special flamed maple, rare, dense, great for a perfect sound and it has a special pattern of birds eye as it can be seen, which makes its look special and different;
The year of construction is 2017 and it has on Thomastik strings;
It is equipped with high quality Ebony accessories.
The set up is very well done, in collaboration with the cellist daughter of the violin maker and some other musicians in order to be comfortable, functional and for the best sound the cello can offer.
It is played for a few years by one of the daughters (who is a cellist) and several professional musicians from the Romanian Orchestras. We use this practice in order to develop a better sound on our instruments. The sound of the cello is amazingly developed in over 6 years, would be perfect for solo or orchestra cellist.
The cello has a balanced sound, a clean and open sound on the high strings and a strong and clear sound on the low strings, with a great volume.
