    Let's Play!
    Archive pictures are used to demonstrate and illustrate the features of this type of Singer ZigZag Attachment and the stitch pattern design cams which come with this unit.
    The 4 original stitch pattern design cams (set 1) which came with the Singer Automatic ZigZagger Attachments are:
    ZigZag 161000
    (which is stored in the Singer Automatic ZigZag Attachment)
    Blind Stitch 161001
    Domino 161002
    Arrowhead 161003
    Firmly lift the back hatch-like black metal cover to change the stitch pattern cam. This can be performed while the attachment is on your sewing machine.
    Under the stitch pattern cam are two notches which fit in the two notches in your Singer ZigZagger Attachment (4 light blue arrows). After securely seating the stitch pattern cam, click the cover closed.
    Turn the cam until the arrow points to the little location mark on the cover. This is the starting point of the repeated stitch pattern the cam will produce.
    You can change quickly from ZigZag to Straight Stitch.
    Pull this lever towards you for straight stitching and push it away from you to engage the Singer Stitch Pattern cam.
    ~~~~~~~~~
    Here is something I really like about the instructions!
    There is a recommendation for setting the stitch length (on your sewing machine) and the width of the zigzag stitch (on the attachment) with an illustration of how the adjustment will effect the look of the stitch.
    For example: No. 30 Stitch Setting (stitch length regulator on your slant needle sewing machine).
    Or Medium (M) Bight (width of the side to side zigzag stitch) on your ZigZagger.
    If you set the stitch setting to No. 12, the stitch pattern lengthens.
    If you increase or decrease the Bight (width of the zigzag stitch), the pattern becomes broader or narrower.
    ~~~
    There is a setting illustration and recommendation for each Singer Stitch Pattern Cam in the instruction manual.
    And numerous pages of suggested applications for
    the varied stitch patterns.

    Some Fun!
    In the stitch sample pictured below,  I used a
    different color bobbin thread than the thread color on top.
    This was fun, too!
    The zigzag stitch on both sides of the pink fabric strip (picture below) was made using 12 wt cotton thread on the upper spool (and a size 90 needle) and 50 wt cotton thread on the bobbin. I had to sew very slowly to avoid thread tangling underneath the stitch sample.
    But, I liked the results!
    There you have it!

    Your Singer Automatic ZigZagger Attachment has been oil washed, inspected, oiled and lubed. It has been stitch tested twice. Once when I receive the attachment and again before I list the attachment.
    NOTE!
    The Singer Automatic ZigZagger's central spindle which holds the stitch pattern design cam is oily!
    Avoid stains on your project or work surface from the oil transferred for the spindle to the inside of the stitch pattern design cam.
